WHAT DO WE DREAM ABOUT MOST: Love, death, or passion? And what these dreams mean, reveals psychologist Natasha Vasic for L&S

What does a kiss mean in a dream? And what about sex or death? Here’s what psychologist Natasha Vasic says

What we certainly know is that dreams represent our dialogue with ourselves. They mainly serve to fulfill repressed desires, aggressive impulses, and sexual drives. Even when a dream seems frightening, it can be very useful.

The most common dreams can depend on culture (people are more likely to dream about what is forbidden; it’s just a matter of how open or hidden the message will be), age, and current situation… It is very important to approach each person and their dream individually, because when two people dream the same thing, the message can be completely different.

What we remember when we wake up are our disguised desires, fears, thoughts… When a dream is properly and expertly interpreted, there is no better indicator of a person’s current psycho-physical state,” claims Nataša Vasić, psychologist and psychological counselor.

If you are kissing someone

It often leaves pleasant memories when we wake up. If you are kissing someone you like, it is mostly a dream functioning as wish fulfillment. A kiss with a mysterious may indicate that there is no one in your surroundings who meets your criteria, which could be the reality of the situation, but it could also mean that you are setting your standards too high for a potential partner, and therefore need a figure you can fully idealize.

This last option, of course, is not the best for you as it is an indicator of a fear of commitment, which needs to be seriously addressed for the sake of your personal happiness and fulfillment.

Erotic dreams

Erotic dreams are also a common occurrence. What we remember when we wake up are our disguised desires, fears, thoughts… When a dream is properly and expertly interpreted, there is no better indicator of a person’s current psycho-physical state.

Dream about death

One of the more common dreams is the one about death. Dreaming of someone’s death can mean that we have, for some reason, decided to ‘bury’ that person, making them dead to us. It can also reflect our fear of loss, and its function is to emotionally prepare us for an unfortunate event. Dreaming of someone’s death can also be a way to manifest repressed aggression towards that person. Due to guilt or fear, a defensive mechanism has developed in popular belief that dreaming of death extends the life of the person we dreamed about, explains our interlocutor.
